Haaland Responds to Rumors of a 3 Trillion Chelsea Transfer

Chelsea are reportedly ready to spend deeply for the sensational young striker Erling Haaland. However, Haaland hastily suppressed the rumors.

Haaland is arguably the most wanted player this summer. Still only 21 years old, the Norway international striker has caught the attention of many of Europe’s top elite clubs for his sharpness and consistency.

Since joining Borussia Dortmund in January last year, Haaland has scored 57 goals in just 59 appearances across all competitions. His score includes a total of 41 goals scored by Haaland throughout 2020/2021 which also made him the Champions League’s top scorer (10 goals) and Bundesliga Player of the Year.

Among the clubs interested in Haaland, Chelsea is called the most desperate. Reportedly, the Blue will make an offer of 175 million euros (approximately Rp. 3 trillion) to Dortmund in order to land Haaland to West London.

Chelsea do need a new striker, following the disappointing performance of Timo Werner. The German striker has only scored 12 goals since being transported from RB Leipzig last season.

Responding to the megatransfer rumors, Haaland hoped it was just speculation. According to him, the price tag is too high.

“I don’t have much to say about this,” Haaland said in Sky Sports. “I still have three years left on my contract and I’m enjoying my time here (at Dortmund.”

“Before yesterday, I hadn’t spoken to my agent in a month. I think you already know the answer. I don’t really care about that anyway.”

“That’s a lot of money – I hope so, frankly, it’s just a rumor because it’s a lot of money for a player!” said Haaland in response to rumors linking him to Chelsea.
