Giannis Antetokounmpo: With this watch he celebrated the NBA championship

Giannis Antetokounmpo has just won the NBA championship with his basketball team, the Milwaukee Bucks. But instead of being dazzled by the shine of the trophy, you should keep your eyes on his wrist.

As the NBA season progressed, we saw Giannis Antetokounmpo make great strides. Perhaps the most amazing leap of them all: from two-time MVP to … real watch collector. Before this season, Antetokounmpo only wore one watch: the Oyster Perpetual, the base model from Rolex. That all changed in the off-season when he signed his gigantic $ 228 million contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks while wearing an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore.

As the season progressed, he wore even more valuable timepieces, including the popular Rolex Daytona with a panda dial, a Rolex Submariner with a blue bezel, and even a Rolex Rainbow with bling-bling. This is a huge step forward for a man who once stocked up on free bottles of water! We certainly wouldn’t have said no if Antetokounmpo had worn the hilarious Rainbow to the Milwaukee citywide championship celebration, but he clearly had something else in mind with this Sky-Dweller. The Rolex Sky-Dweller by Giannis Antetokounmpo

Do you know who else wears a Rolex Sky-Dweller that looks similar to the one on Antetokounmpo’s wrist? Michael Jordan. I’m not saying that’s why Giannis wears his, but I’m not saying the opposite, either. If a watch collector buys a particular Submariner because Steve McQueen wore it, why wouldn’t Giannis do the same with MJ?
