The return of the internationals did not help Genk in a practice match against RWDM. The cup winner went down 1-3 against the second division.
Genk dreams of the Champions League, but then it has to pass Shakhtar Donetsk in two games (3 and 10 August). Not an easy task, so the cup winner wants to gain as much match rhythm as possible.
The second competition match is already scheduled for Friday against KV Oostende, in between Genk planned a practice match against 1B club RWDM. Especially to warm up Kristian Thorstvedt, Carlos Cuesta and Daniel Munoz, who are back from a holiday after the international break.
But a weak first half broke Genk sour. RWDM surprised the cup winner with 1-3. The Limburgers will have to refuel at home against Ostend for their first European assignment.
