Football Ligue 1 – TV: Canal tears up its contract, BeInSport alone in the world!

In the incredible battle between the LFP, Beinsports and Canal +, the Bolloré group channel has decided to definitely cut ties with Ligue 1 by tearing up its contract.

While the Champions Trophy between Lille and PSG will be officially broadcast next weekend by Amazon Prime, the vagueness is still total concerning the two matches per day of Ligue 1 while the championship resumes in ten days. The confusion is even total in the case of TV rights for lot 3. A lot of two matches (Saturday 9 p.m. and Sunday 5 p.m.) that BeInSports, which has a contract with the LFP, and Canal + do not want to broadcast because of the price now ongoing, namely 332million per season through 2024, while Amazon paid less for the rest of L1 fixtures. While the Qatari channel attacked the Professional Football League, and the reverse has also happened, Canal +, which was now in charge of broadcasting the two Ligue 1 matches per day, will not do so.

This Wednesday, the business daily Les Echos announces that on the side of Maxime Saada, we wanted to prove that it was out of the question to see Ligue 1 on Canal + this season and the seasons that follow. Indeed, the historic football chain would have quite simply terminated the contract with BeInSports. For this, C + affirms that if the media headed by Nasser Al-Khelaifi did attack the LFP as required by the contract signed between the two groups, it was only done ” under duress »And not at all in solidarity. And by unilaterally tearing up the contract, Canal + puts BeInSports in a very bad situation, while completely cutting ties with French football. We therefore do not yet know who will give the Troyes-PSG match live on Saturday August 7 at 9 pm and the Metz-LOSC poster on Sunday August 8 at 5 p.m. Two meetings which on the site of the LFP are always announced as being broadcast by Canal +.
