The list of newcomers from RB who came to Leipzig injured is long. Seven million flop Omar Damari is on it, along with Emile Smith Rowe, Patrik Schick, Hannes Wolf and, most recently, Dominik Szoboszlai. Brian Brobbey (19) from Ajax Amsterdam is now making it a little longer.
The Dutchman fails with a torn muscle fiber. He got it shortly before the U21 European Championship at the end of May, so he cannot train under new coach Jesse Marsch (47) at Cottaweg.
Now the storm jewel is to be made fit in the company’s own Athletes Performance Center (APC) in Thalgau (Austria) over the next ten days.
Trip start for Brobbey! The attacker, who came from Ajax Amsterdam on a free transfer, made headlines while on holiday. Or rather his star consultant Mino Raiola (53 / including Pogba, Haaland), who discussed with the family about a contract termination in Leipzig because of the departure of ex-coach Julian Nagelsmann (33 / now Bavaria).
Brobbey himself fueled the rumors by admitting that he was not concerned with the club and the Bundesliga. A club delegation then drove to Amsterdam to calm the family – and to convince them of Leipzig.
Brobbey is here now – but already gone. In the medical center in Thalgau he now enjoys highly professional care.
But a few more days in Leipzig and with the team would probably have done him good …
