FC Augsburg: Kevin Danso rejects training offer

Next episode in the row about Kevin Danso and FC Augsburg!

After the 22-year-old announced last Thursday that “he could no longer play and train for FCA,” and Danso had forcibly left the training camp at Walchsee in Austria, the problem professional now skipped another appointment.

A process with which the Austrian again offended the club – and which is likely to have serious consequences.

“We organized a training session for him in Augsburg, but Kevin called in sick,” said manager Stefan Reuter kicker On Sunday.

FC Augsburg: No end to the Danso Zoff

The frustration is deep – a conversation with Danso and his brother Emmanuel is already planned. It has to be seen “whether there is a common sporting future or whether we can find a sensible solution with another club,” added Reuter.

It is “a bad habit that contracts are binding for clubs, but if a player has a different idea, he is no longer interested in his contract.”

A “common sporting future” now seems hardly possible in view of what happened between the two parties. (NEWS: Everything about the Bundesliga)

Danso, whose contract runs until 2024, is evidently looking for the expanse with all his might. However, a transfer does not seem possible at short notice.

Transfer offer for Danso to the FCA too little

As confirmed by the Augsburgers, there is indeed an offer from the French first division club RC Lens – an offer that is “not at all in line with the market,” as Reuter emphasized.

One therefore wants to “wait and under no circumstances sell it below the price. In addition, it is the case that Lens’ s offer was only sent to us by a consultant.”

No matter how adequate an offer is in the end: FCA coach Markus Weinzierl does not seem willing to start the season with a listless player like Danso.

“We cannot use negativity or negative things,” the 46-year-old is quoted in an interview on the club’s website.

So when the tablecloth is completely cut up, Augsburg really only remains to hand over Danso – or “to remind the player of his duties, as Reuter put it.

The only question is whether this measure will be successful.
