Copa America final: Neymar wants Argentina

BRasilien defeated Peru in the semi-finals of the Copa America and thus set the course for a possible dream final against Argentina. The Seleção to Neymar won the game in the “Estádio Nilton Santos” in Rio de Janeiro on Monday evening (local time) 1-0 (1-0). Former Flamengo player Lucas Paquetá from Olympique Lyon scored the goal in the 34th minute after Neymar samba danced with the Peruvian defense.

Neymar had nothing but praise for the match winner, with whom he harmonized in the quarter-finals against Chile and left no doubt that he would like the classic in the final: “I want Argentina, I keep my fingers crossed for Argentina, I have friends there, in the final the winner will be Brazil,” he said as he left the field and laughed .

The win against Peru could have been even higher. Brazil dominated especially in the first half, in the second half the Seleção slackened a little. The Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Gallese saved several times, for example against Neymar and Richarlison (18th).

The Peruvians initially had few chances to score in the new edition of the 2019 final, which the Seleção won 3-1. But they came out of the cabin stronger and shortly before the end of the game Alexander Callens almost equaled to 1-1.

Argentina against Colombia in the second semifinals

In the second semifinals of the South American Championship, Argentina will meet Colombia on Tuesday (local time), an unbeaten selection of Lionel Messi in the tournament. The final is scheduled for July 10th at the legendary Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil wants to defend the title in their own country, has an always dangerous striker in Neymar and is currently also leading in the qualifying group for the 2022 World Cup with six wins from six games.
