Chelsea FC: transfer spending in 2020 and 2021 giant figures | Premier League

Chelsea is shaping up to be the new rich man in world football. After a season with millionaire signings and the subsequent achievement of the Champions League, the London team seems to continue on the same path.

This is entirely due to the club’s owner, Román Abramóvich, who did not settle for a new European success and plans to continue boosting the payroll to win the Premier League.

Chelsea’s billionaire story began in the summer of 2020. After a FIFA ban and banned from signing, the club had the opportunity to save a “good ticket” to spend later.

In this market, a total of 247.2 million euros were spent: Kai Havertz (80), Timo Werner (53), Ben Chilwell (50.2), Hakim Ziyech (40) and Edouard Mendy (24). No one even came close to them.

The balance was extremely positive, taking into account that he won the Champions League title, was fourth in the Premier and runner-up in the FA Cup. With that, they recovered the investment.

For the summer market of this 2021, things do not seem to change at all. What’s more, in the purchase of just two footballers the amount could reach or exceed 200 million euros. Abramovich wants to “throw the house out the window.”

As reported by the German daily Bild, the ‘Blues’ dream of Erling Haaland and Federico Chiesa. For the Norwegian star they plan to offer 175 million euros, while for the Italian revelation they offered 100 million, but Juventus rejected them.

In this vein, and clearly increasing the offer for Chiesa, the expense would quietly exceed 200 million, as mentioned above. Amount that few, if not any club, could pay in the middle of the pandemic.

To this can be added the information from the newspaper ‘The Sun’, which ensures that the next targets are Eduardo Camavinga and Jules Koundé. According to the specialized portal Transfermarkt, the purchase of both stars would be around 115 million.

Then taking the accounts further, Chelsea could perfectly spend in 12 months (summer 2020 and 2021) around 550 million euros or even more if another whim is crossed …
