Cameron Champ or the thirst for victories

The American – aptly named – won the PGA Tour for the third time despite a bout of dehydration. Guess who is 2nd? Louis Oosthuizen, of course.

American Cameron Champ (-15 overall) claimed his third PGA Tour victory Sunday at the 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota, with a score of 66 on day four. He is ahead of a trio of Louis Oosthuizen (-13), who returned a card of 66, Charl Schwartzel (68) and Jhonattan Vegas (68).

The 26-year-old golfer overcame a bout of dehydration in the final nine holes to take the lead on the TPC Twin Cities course with a score of 269 (-15). Champ took the win with a two stroke lead thanks to a dazzling approach chip at hole 18, which went over the flag and then came back into the hole retro.

“I made things a little interesting, said Champ. I made a nice approach to save the par ”. On the 4th and last lap, the 18 green turned out to be a real headache with its frontal mini-lake, which swallowed 124 golf balls.

American Keith Mitchell (-12) finished fifth ahead of Canadian Adam Hadwin (-11), co-leader of the second round.
