Bilbao will host the final of the Europa League in 2025 and the match that will be resolved by the champion of the Women’s Champions League of 2024 as a form of compensation after the Biscayan city lost its status as host in the multi-site Eurocup that was played between 11 June and July 11 due to the restrictions established by the Basque Government to fight against the coronavirus pandemic, which prevented the presence of spectators in San Mamés, a condition imposed by the body that regulates European football to all venues.

This has been announced by the body chaired by Aleksander Ceferin after the meeting of an Executive Committee in which the hosts of several of the club competition finals in the coming years have been set.

Following the transfer of the 2021 Champions League final from Istanbul to Porto, the celebration of the 2023 Champions League final has been awarded to the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in the Turkish capital. In addition, the draws for the group stage of the Champions League, the Europa League and the new Conference League will take place in Istanbul at the end of August, for both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

The 2023 Champions League final originally scheduled for Munich is moved to 2025. Wembley Stadium will continue to host the 2024 Champions League final.

Dublin, which as Bilbao could not host the Eurocopa matches initially planned due to the restrictions adopted by the Irish authorities, will host the Europa League final in 2024.
