Benoît Paire qualified for the second round of the Atlanta Open

The American tour, which is scheduled to lead to the US Open (August 30 – September 12), kicked off for Benoît Paire with a first-round victory at the Atlanta Open on Tuesday night. The French won in three sets (7-5, 6-7 [2], 6-4) against the Japanese Yasutaka Uchiyama (120th). Having failed to break his opponent in the second set, Paire was embarked on a tie-break that he badly negotiated. But he recovered in the last set, far from the player who gave up too quickly at the start of the year, to win. Pair will be opposed in the next round to the Finnish Emil Ruusuvuori (75th).
