Tennis player Belinda Bencic (No. 12 in the world) qualified for the final of the women’s tournament in Tokyo-2020 after defeating Kazakh Elena Rybakina (N. 20) by 7-6 (7/2), 4-6 and 6 -3, securing a medal for Switzerland.
Bencic will have the opportunity to succeed the Puerto Rican Mónica Puig (champion in Rio-2016) in the final that will be played on Friday and that will face the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (N.5) or the Czech Marketa Voundrosova (N.42) .
For her part, Rybakina, who defeated the Spanish Garbiñe Muguruza in the quarterfinals, will play the match for the bronze medal.
