Before his transaction, Joey Gallo could not imagine elsewhere than in Texas

Even though the Rangers aren’t among the elite in major league baseball, that didn’t stop Joey Gallo from staying loyal. Although the latter was traded to the Yankees, he preferred not to think about leaving Arlington for another club before the transaction.

Having come close to suffering the same fate last year, the outfielder is not on his first rodeo during the transaction deadlines. Nonetheless, he took the trouble to thank his supporters last night, should it be his last days in the Rangers uniform. He finally did well.

In addition to hitting a long three-point ball for his 25th homerun of the year, Gallo distinguished himself in defense by recording two assists to the right field. It was the third time in his career that he had achieved this feat in a game, which ended in a 5-4 victory for the Rangers over the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was the Texans’ first win in 13 outings since July 9.

After the meeting, Gallo took the opportunity to discuss his present situation. He did not know then that he was going to take the road to New York.

“We don’t know the future. I don’t want to miss the opportunity to express my appreciation to everyone. I spent 10 years here. I remember last year when I almost got traded, I thought I would like to say something. I want the fans to know that I appreciated everything they have done for me and for their support. ”

Gallo will still have left a mark in the history of the organization. With 145 cannon shots, he ranks 17th in the history of the organization, only one behind Rougned Odor. Plus, being Joey Gallo, he’s also seventh overall for most strikeouts, at 797.
