The challenge to the top with Sanremo ends with another beautiful victory for Eleluci JFK Baseball Mondovì. This 14-9 means first place in the standings, which was previously shared with the Ligurians (now a game away).
The match seen on Sunday is a good match, between two young teams with a great desire to win. The promising start of Mondovì, thanks to an excellent performance of the whole line-up, provokes 9-0 after only three rounds. It seems done and the kids of the house make the mistake of letting their guard down. The Sanremo in fact does not give up and reopens the game scoring 8 points thanks to a series of consecutive valid beats. C.With the opponents only one point behind, however, the biancoblu rekindled bringing the score to 14 to 8. In the last round the Sanremo tried to recover but managed to score only one point on the “closer” of the match Pietro Gianoglio. It ends 14 to 9.
Nice performance of the boys of Marconi, authors of a few flaws in defense and able to score many hits, especially in the first part of the game. In particular, Gianoglio’s general performance was excellent with two valid scores, two perfect assists from the outside and three final innings as a pitcher with only one point immediately. Now JFK enjoys the first position in group A of Serie C with a game of advantage over Sanremo and two matches from the end has everything in its hands; the concentration must remain very high and the boys will have to aim for victory in the next matches against Desperados and Cairese (on August 1st at home and on August 29th in Cairo Montenotte).
