Barça: Griezmann, and now the exchange?

Willing to do anything to offer Lionel Messi (34) a new contract – something currently impossible due to finances in the red – FC Barcelona is seriously considering parting with Antoine Griezmann (30). And if a sale remains privileged by the Barcelona staff, with an interest of Manchester City in the Premier League (see yesterday’s news at 5:05 p.m.), the French striker could also be sold in the form of an exchange with Saul Niguez (26), of Atletico Madrid.

The Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo made its front page this Saturday, and presented a “win-win” operation for all parties. Barça would thus make up for the failure Georginio Wijnaldum (30) by hiring a confirmed midfielder, and he would especially lighten his payroll by getting rid of Griezmann’s XXL emoluments. Will Atletico accept to assume them? According to our Spanish colleagues, the Madrid club is convinced that its former player will make certain efforts to return.

The transfer of Saul, who wishes to leave Atletico, would be “smoothed” over several years in the Barcelona accounts, and the same for that of Griezmann at the Colchoneros, where he would find “Cholo” Simeone, the coach who has makes him the player he is today.
