Celaya was the venue for the AGUBA 2021 Ambassadors Basketball Tournament, in which 125 teams from the state of Guanajuato participated, where winners obtained their classification to be present at the Federated Olympiad, to be held in Mexico City.
After three days, this AGUBA 2021 Ambassadors Basketball Tournament culminated, which was held at both Deportiva Miguel Alemán, Deportiva Estatal and Parque Xochipilli, where teams from the Micro category up to Under-21 took part.
Tournament Winners
To deliver the corresponding award, on behalf of the municipal president, Elvira Paniagua Rodríguez, was attended by the director of the Physical Culture and Sports System (SIDEC), Jorge Arturo Medina Pérez, who was together with Enrique Silva, leader of the Guanajuatense Association of Basketball (AGUBA).
Around 1,200 players from different municipalities in the state of Guanajuato were present at the AGUBA 2021 Ambassadors Basketball Tournament, accompanied by their relatives, that is, there were a total of more than 3,000 visitors in the city, generating an important spill economic for the municipality.
During this basketball tournament, the organizing committee asked both players and coaches, as well as parents, to comply with health measures such as the use of a mask, application of antibacterial gel, temperature measurement, among other measures.
