How to make holidays with children, the most enjoyable and above all useful? The question is worrying both for many parents, associations and actors who work for the supervision of young people and for the government. The proof is the launch, on July 16, 2021 in Yaoundé, of the “Holiday leisure program”. The opening was chaired by the Cameroonian Minister of Sports and Physical Education.
Prof. Narcisse Mouelle KOMBI emphasized the importance of this initiative, which consists of taking advantage of these vacations, to detect the talents, supervision and education of children. In total, 15 workshops were opened at the Gymnasium of the omminisports stadium in Yaoundé, from athletics to volleyball, including table tennis, judo and gymnastics. There were no specific recruitment criteria as such, we wanted to clarify. Children aged 2 to 18 years or less are the targets. As for registrations, 5,000 FCFA for those over 5 years old and 10,000 FCFA for children under 5 years old. 300 children are already registered on the lists. For perfect control and better supervision of children, the discipline has been recommended by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education.
As for the coaches, they come from different federations and are federal graduates and high level coaches..
