Without further ado, here are five reasons that support England can win Euro 2020:

1. Strong defensive line

According to UEFA, England are the only one among the four Euro 2020 finalists who still haven’t conceded a goal in five games in the tournament.

They became the first team since Italy at the 1990 World Cup to go five consecutive clean sheets from the start of two major tournaments (World Cup and Euros).

2. Squad harmony

England coach Gareth Southgate assesses that his team has a harmony that is not found in other teams participating in the Euros.

“I’ve seen a lot of countries get knocked out of tournaments because the spirit isn’t like the ones these kids have,” said Gareth Southgate.

England midfielder Jordan Henderson is also in line with the coach. According to him, the current England squad is the best at Euro 2020.

“It’s the best squad I’ve ever seen in a tournament,” said Jordan Henderson

Meanwhile, England captain Harry Kane believes that Southgate has created a healthy environment in the team.

“It’s all thanks to Southgate and the first-team culture he created. He brings real calm to the squad, real togetherness,” Kane said.

“The most important thing for him is for us to be together, whether you play, you are on the bench or in the squad, this is a real team environment and we are all pushing in the same direction,” Kane added.

3. Wembley Stadium Factor Faktor

England benefit from the semifinals and final of Euro 2020 which will be held at their home ground, Wembley Stadium.

The Three Lions Team’s record at the 90,000-seater stadium since the 2018 World Cup is quite impressive, namely 14 wins from 17 matches.

In the Euro 2020 semifinal match against Denmark, Wembley Stadium is expected to be attended by 60,000 spectators. England benefited because the majority of the audience were their own fans.

4. The front line is sharp

England currently have not one, but two prolific forwards, namely Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane.

Both have scored six of England’s eight goals at the Euros so far. Each of them collected three goals.

Sterling is the player who scored England’s first three goals at the Euros. Meanwhile, Kane just got hot in the knockout phase. Two of his three goals were scored at that stage.

5. Experience facing big matches

When England reached the semifinals of the 2018 World Cup, it was their first time appearing in the last four of a major tournament since Euro 1996.

England then made it back to the semifinals a year later. This time, they reached the last four of the 2018-2019 UEFA Nations League (UNL).

Unfortunately, from the last two semifinals, England have always lost, all through extra time drama.

In the 2018 World Cup semifinals, England lost 1-2 to Croatia, while at UNL, they were silenced by the Netherlands 1-3.

The painful defeat of the two strong countries is enough to be a lesson for England. They are better prepared now to face Denmark in the semifinals of Euro 2020 before going to the final and finally becoming champions.
