SILVERSTONE – The 2021 British Grand Prix Formula One (F1) race will take place at the Silverstone Circuit, Sunday (18/7/2021), evening WIB. Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton came out victorious in this home race.
The race spectators were immediately presented with drama on the first lap. Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes AMG Petronas were involved in an incident that brought the race to a halt.
Verstappen started the race from first position. The Dutch racer immediately started his car after the race started.
Verstappen was followed by Hamilton who started the race from second position. The chase between the two rivals immediately occurred on the first lap.

However, the rear tire of Verstappen’s car came into contact with the front tire of Hamilton who was about to overtake. Verstappen’s car spun before crashing into the parapet. Even so, Verstappen was able to get out of his car and seemed fine.
After that, the red flag was flown on the second lap so the race was temporarily stopped. The racers returned to their respective garages to wait for the race to restart.
The race restarted with Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in first place. Meanwhile, Hamilton received a 10-second penalty for his previous incident with Verstappen.
Despite getting punished, Hamilton tried to stay in the front row or even win the race. He was slowly improving his position which had sag due to punishment.
Hamilton’s struggle was not in vain because he was able to come out as the winner of this home race. Completing the top three positions were Leclerc as runner-up and Hamilton’s teammate, Valtteri Bottas, on the third podium.
