Zlatan Ibrahimovic has left knee surgery

Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic underwent surgery on his left knee on Friday, his Italian club AC Milan announced. The arthroscopic procedure took place at the UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital in Rome. In the process, his joint was “cleaned,” according to the club. Ibrahimovic is doing well and will begin his rehabilitation immediately.

The 39-year-old announced his return to the Swedish national team earlier this year. He had made two assists in his first two appearances since the 2016 European Championship. This new injury deprived him of participation in the Euro which is currently taking place in eleven European cities.
