Vanessa Bryant, the widow of Kobe, and other relatives of the victims of the terrible January 2020 helicopter crash in which 7 people died including the basketball legend and his daughter Gianna they decided to settle the lawsuit against the pilot and the owners of the vehicle. A notice of an agreement reached with a federal judge in Los Angeles was filed on Tuesday, although details of the same were not disclosed. If the agreement were to be approved by the court, it would close the lawsuit for negligence and manslaughter.

Thanks to this agreement, the legal action against Island Express Helicopters Inc and its owner Island Express Holding Corp for failing to properly train the pilot. However, IEH itself denied any responsibility, underlining how the accident was a tragic fatality.

Kobe Bryant, 13-year-old daughter Gianna and six other passengers on January 26, 2020 were flying aboard a helicopter departing from Orange County to going to a basketball tournament at his Mamba Sports Academy in Ventura County. Due to a thick fog north of Los Angeles, the vehicle crashed into the hills of Calabasas, killing all 9 people on board instantly, before the flames engulfed the wreck.
