Wonju City Councilor Choi Mi-ok revealed the situation of damage to residents due to the Central Neighborhood Park development project through the 5-minute speech of the first plenary session of the 226th Wonju City Council regular meeting on the 10th.

Wonju Central Neighborhood Park District 1, about 462,000 square meters, will be completed within June of this month. In addition, The Sharp Central Park 4 complexes with 2656 households will be completed from November this year to June 2022.

The park site will include a 3km long Yonghwasan Dullegil, a culture and art center, an indoor badminton court, an outdoor performance hall, and a parking lot.

Rep. Choi said that the residents of Myeongnyun 2-dong have suffered damage and suffering due to many problems that occur at the construction site of new apartment buildings, starting from the foundation work in early 2019 and until now. .

Regarding the damage caused by POSCO E&C’s new apartment building, Rep. Choi argued that safety rules were not observed at all in the school zone, a children’s protection area where infants and young children live for more than 8 hours a day due to blasting without notice in the school zone.

In particular, the total number of blasting in the 3rd block of Central Park was a whopping 247, out of which the number of blasting in the 1st gate of Zone A was 208 in front of 17. emphasized that he did not.

Infants of kindergarten daycare centers and kindergarten children are mistaken for an earthquake and evacuate several times, and they are suffering from difficulties in operation because recruitment of kindergarteners is not working due to this.

Other than that, damage from large glass at business sites, leaks due to cracks in the building walls, and mold from leaks resulting in expansion of vacancies in commercial buildings, etc. is huge, but POSCO E&C is only claiming that there is no excuse.

In addition, high-rise apartments are located right in front of densely populated residential areas, increasing damage from infringements on the right to sunlight and privacy for existing residents.

Currently, residents have given up their livelihoods since May and have been protesting in front of the construction site every day with a miserable heart, demanding that the residents actively respond to damage.

Rep. Choi insisted that POSCO E&C, which ignores serious damage to the residents, should now actively engage in the negotiation table.
