Some members of New Orleans Pelicans’ family, Zion Williamson, want the basketball player to continue his career in another National Basketball Association (NBA) unit, according to The Athletic.

New Orleans Pelicans fired head coach Stan Van Gandhi after a failed season. Although the composition of the team “on paper” was quite strong, the “Pelicans” could not even reach the “play-in” competition. It was Van Gandhi who received a great deal of criticism for failing to optimize the lineup so that the Pelicans would be a play-off team.

“Termination of the contract with Van Gandhi is no bigger problem for the Pelicans,” The Athletic said. “They haven’t been able to put together the right elements to make Williamson and his family happy.” Several media sources have confirmed that Zion’s family locks would like to see him in another club.

There are also problems with the second Pelicans star, Brandon Ingram. He didn’t like Van Gandhi’s training style, sources said “The Athletic”. According to him, the coach was not able to integrate both leaders in the offensive games, so that they could both complement each other and form a powerful duo.

Williamson’s debtor’s contract is valid for the next season, but after that “Pelicans” will be able to offer him a more monetary contract. Ingrams, on the other hand, has already signed the maximum contract, which is active until 2025.

Zion is one of the NBA’s brightest talents right now. He averaged 27 points last season with an impressive 61.1% accuracy. Meanwhile, Ingrams scored 23.8 points.
