Why has Josh Jacobs been and will be a Fantasy Football bust?

Hello! I am Diego Lozano. In this article, I introduce myself to the entire community of Primero y Diez. It had always been a dream to be on the most important platform of the NFL in Spanish and today this objective is met; It is even more incredible for me to also have the opportunity to talk about my passion – which is Fantasy Football – in the same place. In this little interview that the Newsroom gave me, we skipped the “uncomfortable” part of the introduction to break the ice and start with everything in this new stage:

Tell us a bit about yourself:

I’m 16. I study high school at UNAM and I can speak Spanish, French and English fluently. I bring a fresh and young vision to Fantasy with advanced stats and specific analysis so you can be the best. I am the creator / host of the podcast Fantasy Football Legends where I do fun and specific analysis on Fantasy. In addition, I have had as guests great sports figures such as Enrique Burak and Raúl Allegre and my greatest teachers: Mauricio Gutiérrez and Ian Hartitz, among many others. I also write in Fantasy Stadium weekly articles on different topics from the land of Fantasy.

What is your favorite format to play Fantasy Football?

My favorite format is the .5 PPR (half point per reception). The reason is that I think it reflects more of the talent in Fantasy. Let’s take an example: Miles Sanders has 2 catches on screen plays for 2 yards while Josh Jacobs has 2 carries for 20 yards. In PPR (point per catch) which is the most popular format, Miles Sanders would have more points (2.2) doing absolutely nothing but catch the ball and advance a yard, while Josh Jacobs (2.0) who ran 20 yards, avoiding tackles and suffering many blows, he would have fewer points. At .5 PPR, Miles Sanders would have 1.2, while Jacobs 2.0.

What is your favorite draft strategy?

When entering a Fantasy Draft you must arrive with the same mentality with which you enter a party: open to everything that may happen throughout the night. It also depends on the position where you are and the available players. This year, my teams have been very sexy with the call Mid Zero-RB, consists of catching a runner in the first round and catching another until the fifth or sixth. Your team is very strong in the WR position and in Fantasy having 3 elite receivers is a blessing. I love grabbing one of the Top-3 TEs in Fantasy (Kelce, Kittle and Waller) for the security they give you in a very uncertain position.

Who have been your favorite players and the MVP of your career in Fantasy?

There was a time when I really liked the Texans when these two players were together: DeAndre Hopkins and Deshaun Watson are, hands down, my favorite players in Fantasy. However, if I had to choose the MVP of my life in this game it would have to be a not (Hopkins). It’s my favorite WR in the entire league and synonymous with consistency in Fantasy. He has never missed a relevant Fantasy match in his career and in only 3 seasons has he finished outside the top-5.

What is your bust for life in Fantasy?

My relationship with Josh Jacobs is more toxic than your relationship with your partner. I’ve been waiting for two years for it to explode like a legitimate Fantasy RB1 having targets and receiving passes, sadly this has never happened and will never happen. In 2019, Jon Gruden gave him a lot of carries, but was taken off the field by low-level players like DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard, who took 81 from him. targets on the whole. In 2020 we all expected great things after Gruden said that Jacobs was not going to leave the field, at the end of the season again this was more false than the “forever together” of your ex. In 2021, Gruden signed Kenyan Drake and buried Jacobs’ Fantasy courage. In the real NFL, this is one of the best running backs in the league, but in Fantasy, given the high expectations and they give us a full point for reception, he has been a total disappointment.

We will be reading each other from this week on the website with various Fantasy Football content and soon we will see each other on Primero y Diez’s YouTube channel. You can leave your questions, suggestions and comments about your leagues, teams, strategies and more below this article and on our social networks!
