Verstappen wins after defeating Hamilton

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen emerged as the winner of the 2021 French GP. Verstappen finished ahead after defeating his closest rival, Lewis Hamilton.

In the race at the Paul Ricard Circuit, Sunday (20/6/2021), Verstappen started at the front, trailed by Hamilton who took second place. They competed fiercely in the last rounds for victory in the seventh round of F1 2021.

Hamilton took the lead from Verstappen, who made a mistake at the start of widening the first corner. The Dutch racer then entered the second pit stop in the 32nd lap which ended in a sharp finish.


Verstappen managed to cut the distance from 18 seconds by using the new tires. Victory was ensured by Verstappen after overtaking Hamilton in the second round from the end, a position he managed to maintain until the finish line.

This is Max Verstappen’s second win this season. Previously, Verstappen emerged victorious in the series Emilia Romagna and Monaco.

With this result, Red Bull dominated the French GP F1 podium after Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez, finished third. Another Mercedes driver, Valtteri Bottas, had to settle for fourth place ahead of McLaren duo Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo.

Veteran Fernando Alonso is in eighth place, behind Pierre Gasly, who drives the Alpha Tauri. While the duo Aston Martin Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll complete the top 10.
