Tsitsipas very solid to join the semi-finals, surprising Zidansek and Pavlyuchenkova

11:32 p.m.: Tsitsipas overcomes Medvedev and goes to the semi-finals

Medvedev tried everything but Tsitsipas was the strongest on Tuesday. With a superb backhand passing on a spoon service from the Russian on match point, the Greek validated the victory of the third set (7-5), synonymous with qualifying for the semi-finals.

To reach the final, he will have to beat the German Alexander Zverev (N.6).

22h35 : Tsitsipas double la mise

The second round was more difficult than the first for Stefanos Tsitsipas but he still takes the lead by now leading two sets to zero against Daniil Medvedev.

The Russian increased his level of play but the Greek rounded back and was stronger in the tie-break (7-6, 7/3).

9:42 p.m .: The first set for Tsistsipas

In the evening poster, the last without an audience, between Stefanos Tsitsipas (N.5) and Daniil Medvedev (N.2), it was the Greek who took the advantage in the first set (6-3).

7:55 p.m.: Without trembling, Alexander Zverev offers himself Davidovich Fokina and a place in the next lap

Everything suggested that Alexander Zverev would not have it easy on Tuesday, against Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Falling down on Casper Ruud in the 3rd round after a big performance, then Argentina’s Delbonis in the round of 16, the surprise of the French Open started with a beating pace against the seeded N.6.

After an entry break then another at 2-3 (before being unbreaker in stride each time), Davidovich Fokina began to weaken. Winner of any of his last three stakes in the first round, the Spaniard let slip the first set, yet so promising.

In the second set, Alexander Zverev did not go into detail, leaving only a small game to his opponent (6-1) and winning the set in 25 minutes.

In the third round, the German kept the same pace, with an idea behind his head: not to engage in a marathon match, just to keep some strength before the semi-final. He therefore only needed a minute more (26) in the second set to eliminate Davidovich Fokina from these French Open (6-4, 6-1, 6-1).

6:05 p.m .: Pavlyuchenkova joins Zidansek in the last square

3 hours after the victory of the Slovenian Zidansek against Badosa Gibert, the seed of N.31, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, finally got the better of the Kazakstani Elena Rybakina.

The seeded N.21 had yet taken the first set in the tie-break. After nearly an hour of play (58 minutes), Rybakina managed to bring down the Russian in the decisive game. But this disappointment did not prevent Pavlyuchenkova from raising her level of play in the second round: thanks to two breaks on the last two face-offs of the Kazakstanaise, the Russian reset the counters to zero.

Set off at the same pace as the first set, the third round was the scene of a hotly contested mano a mano: breakée entry, Rybakina managed to break in stride, before breaking his opponent in turn. A station wagon which, too, will not last very long, Pavlyuchenkova breaking in stride.

The two players then played it safe for long games, before the Russian, quarter-finalist Porte d’Auteuil in 2011, managed to take the last service game from Rybakina (7-9, 1:06 of play for this set ).

She will therefore find Zidansek on Thursday for a place in the final.

4:12 p.m .: the Herbert – Mahut pair in the semi-final

The French pair Pierre-Hugues Herbert – Nicolas Mahut strides forward in the men’s double table. On Tuesday, the two players got the better of the Brkic – Cacic pair in straight sets (7-6 (7/5), 6-1).

The two players, who made the Suzanne-Lenglen court vibrate for 1 hour 26 minutes, will challenge the Cabal / Farah (N.2) pair, downfall of the Krawietz / Tecau pair in the quarter-finals, in the next round. For the two French, the goal is simple: to win a second Porte d’Auteuil title, three years after the first (2018).

14:37: Zidansek advances to the next round

The third seems to be the right one for Tamara Zidansek.

After leaving the table in the first round during her first two participations at Roland Garros, the Slovenian seems to have found the right recipe on Parisian soil.

The Spaniard, Paula Badosa Gibert, seed number 33, did not however give him any gifts.

After recovering the second set, Badosa, pushed Zidansek to the end of the last set.

The Slovenian finally wins in character (7-5, 4-6, 8-6) after two and a half hours. For the first time in her young career, she reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam.
