Total support for the Coyotes basketball school of the Gulf University – El Sol de Tampico

In order to promote the practice of basketball among children in southern Tamaulipas, the University of the Gulf will provide all its support to the Coyotes Academy, which has been growing steadily, in addition to announcing that the institution will cede the administration of the park Guillermo Arteaga de Tancol, hoping that the people who will take care of it from now on will keep it in optimal condition.

At a press conference, the Secretary General of the University of the Gulf, Víctor Manuel González Méndez, reiterated on behalf of the rector of the institution, Heriberto Florencia Menéndez, his total commitment to sports activity as part of the comprehensive training of students.

However, he expressed the disappointment on the part of the school at the insistence of two individuals to take over the ball park located in Tancol, which the Gulf University has maintained in optimal conditions, work carried out with resources from the institution itself and that has allowed this property to become the baseball cathedral of southern Tamaulipas.

He stressed that despite the above situation, the Gulf University will continue to support the Coyotes baseball teams, highlighting, of course, that they will be aware of the care given to the Tancol ball park.

SUPPORTING THE COYOTES BASKETBALL SCHOOL

One of the projects of transcendence in the sports field that the University of the Gulf has launched is the Basketball Academy that has been working successfully on the field located in the Primero de Mayo square of the Guadalupe Victoria neighborhood, a sector known as El Gulf, cradle of great representatives of the so-called “rush sport”.

It started with just eight children, said Joel Hernández, the school’s director, who added that they currently have eight categories from 5 years old up to 20 years old, participating in the municipal leagues of Tampico and Cuidad Madero with great success.

“We are going to focus on supporting the training of small basketball players, who are the future of the sport and we are going to support them to leave the court in perfect condition so that they can carry out their training sessions,” said Víctor González Méndez.
