[Top 50] # 21: Ronnie Stanley, the wall of Baltimore | Touchdown Actu (NFL Actu)

From May 15 to July 3, TDActu presents its Top 50 NFL players. To arrive at this ranking, each member of the editorial staff voted for the 50 players they would like to have on their team to start the coming season. These rankings were then compiled to form the final Top 50.

The opportunity to debate, but also to present 50 profiles to those new to the NFL.

Ronnie Stanley– Offensive Tackle – Baltimore Ravens

ID card : 27 years old – 1.98 cm – 142 kg

Draft : n ° 6 in the 1st round of the 2016 Draft – Notre Dame

CV : 1ère équipe All Pro (2019), 1x Pro Bowl (2019)

Why is he here?

Chosen at the 6th position of the draft in 2016, Ronnie Stanley responded in his first season, quickly showing that he was a reference especially in the passing game. Solid on his support, patient and powerful, he will progress from year to year before knowing the consecration in 2019.

In an alluring Baltimore team, he’s going to be Lamar Jackson’s bodyguard with flying colors. If the latter finished MVP, it is mainly thanks to him. Already impassive in the passing game (0 sacks cashed during the season), he has progressed in the racing game to the point of being formidable in various patterns.

If his 2021 season came to a halt due to injury, but he has already proven that he is a benchmark.

2021 target

Individually, the main goal for Ronnie Stanley is to come back to 100% physically. The tackle position is a position where most players come back well, and there is no doubt that a young player like Stanley will be able to regain his level.

Collectively, the Baltimore Ravens need to (finally) turn a corner, and on paper they can compete with the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs. Ronnie Stanley is a key element of the team, and his performance will be essential for Baltimore to advance in the playoffs and why not finally participate in the Super Bowl.

Heard in the editorial

“Stanley is a wall, it’s the perfect left tackle for the NFL. », Victor Roullier

“No sack conceded in 14 games in 2019, 2 in 15 games in 2018, who could say better? When in good health, Ronnie Stanley is the left tackle any quarterback wants on his side. », Jean Michel Bougeard
