Tom Brady felt disrespected by team
The Marshal of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tom Brady was uninhibited in an interview he gave on the next episode of HBO’s The Shop. Brady opened up about being seduced during free agency last free season and criticized a team that saw him as a low-level quarterback.
“One of the teams was not interested in the end,” explained Brady in that video. “I was thinking, ‘You’re going to keep that son of a bitch.'”
Brady did not specify which team or player has turned several fans into detectives. Before signing with the Bucs, some of the teams interested in the legendary quarterback included the Chargers, Saints and 49ers.
Here Brady talks briefly about his free agency.
David on Brady coming to the Bucs: “I’m 100 percent positive he had a great team.”
Brady spoke broadly about free agency and his decision to get to the Buccaneers. It will be interesting if Brady provides more details on why he chose the Bucs when the HBO show airs on June 25. In an interview exclusive that he offered to Heavy, Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David reflected on the reasons he thinks Brady came to Tampa.
“I am positive, 100 percent positive that he [Brady] I knew I had a great team, ”he admitted. “He knew he could go and be able to help us get where we needed to go. Defensively, we were ready, offensively we had all the arsenal that I needed. So why not come and play here? “
Brady could have referred to the 49ers and Jimmy G
Based on previous reports, the 49ers made perfect sense as the team Brady was referring to in the video. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported that the 49ers were interested in Brady but decided to stay with Jimmy Garoppolo after watching his video of the 2019 season.
“I can tell you that what happened with Brady in the spring was something interesting,” he explained in The Ryen Russillo Podcast in October 2020. “You know, how everything worked was that Brady warned him [a los 49ers] I would be willing to go there if you are interested, you guys are first on the list. This caused John Lynch, Kyle Shanahan, everyone in the organization to take a deep breath and say, ‘Okay, we have to consider this.’
“So a bunch of guys went and analyzed the Brady’s video over a period of two or three days and came to the conclusion that Brady could play at a high level. This would be a good option. What they did and said, ‘Okay, now let’s see Jimmy’s video. ” This reaffirmed several things that they thought about Jimmy so it’s great for Jimmy to get the reassurance that he was the headline. “
A year later, the Niners opted to make changes in order to select Trey Lance. Garoppolo is still in the squad, but it seems like it will be a matter of time until he loses the title. However, fans will continue to speculate on who Brady was talking about in that video until the Bucs quarterback eventually gives a clear answer.
