Thomas Pesquet – VSD

The French astronaut returns to the stars. From April 20, he is due to join the International Space Station for a six-month mission.

VocationAs a child, he spent hours in space shuttle models made for him by his father: “he drew dials on pieces of cardboard, he put on cushions to make a somewhat comfortable cockpit. I was a fan of space, quite naively, like many little boys. “

Superman

Pesquet is fluent in French, English, Russian, Chinese, Spanish and German. He practices football, basketball, mountain biking, squash, tennis, rugby, surfing, sailing, skiing and parachuting. His favorite sport remains judo, of which he is a black belt. He also took her to space during his first mission, between November 2016 and June 2017. Finally, he plays (well, it seems) the saxophone.

Engagements

With the rank of colonel, Thomas Pesquet is a member of the Air Force citizen reserve. Ambassador of Unicef, sponsor of the NGO Aviation Without Borders, he transfers all the copyrights of his books to the Restos du cœur. Knight of the Legion of Honor, he is also the 2017 winner of the Prize VSD of Human Adventure.
