The Tokyo Olympics will allow the entry of up to 10,000 spectators

Japanese Japanese authorities decided today to allow up to 10,000 spectators in the stands of the Tokyo Olympics, Although they reserve the option of holding closed-door competitions in the event of an upturn in covid infections.

The decision was announced this Monday by the organizers of Tokyo 2020 after a meeting with the Japanese Executive, the Tokyo regional government and the heads of the international Olympic and Paralympic committees.

The announcement comes the same day that the state of health emergency due to coronavirus is lifted in Tokyo and other regions of the country, although restrictions are maintained to prevent infections that mainly affect the opening hours of bars and restaurants.
