The summer ‘Fuenlicolonias’ begin in Fuenlabrada

In this edition, the number of places is 3,000 for different offers based on the specific needs of boys and girls. The program is organized by the Department of Youth and Childhood and the Social Welfare, Culture and Citizen Security collaborate.

Tomorrow starts the Fuenlicolonia de Conciliation and Educational Leisure which covers the period from June 25 to September 7 and boys and girls can sign up for fortnights. Tomorrow 200 boys and girls begin, to which 976 more will be added as of July.

The aim is to help families in reconciling family and work during school holidays as well as offering healthy and quality leisure to children who this year need more than ever to interact with their peers. And all this, following the hygiene and prevention measures of Covid, among them, capacity in centers and organized groups or entrances.

A program of activities has been organized under the title of ‘We are Impulse’ to develop the fundamental value of the role of boys, girls and adolescents as citizens with full rights, promoting social values ​​such as participation, care for the environment, education, multiculturalism, coexistence, collaboration and sport. There will also be puppet shows related to children’s rights and environmental education sessions.

There are four centers where the activity takes place: Classroom III, Benito Pérez Galdós, Juan de la Cierva and Fregacedos. It is aimed at boys and girls between 3 and 12 years old and whose families need to combine their work activity with the care of their children. The hours are from 7.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., including extensions of hours according to needs.

On July 1, the Fuenlicolonia Verde La Pollina will begin. Focused on environmental education and aimed at children between 5 and 12 years old, this fuenlicolonia will take place in the Municipal Center “La Pollina” during the month of July. The schedule will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. without interruption. That same day begins the Fuenlicolonia for boys and girls with special educational needs. It will be held in the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Public School of Special Education during the month of July for boys and girls from 3 to 21 years old. The Fuenlicolonia schedule will be from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

On July 5 begins ‘Coles para Play’. It highlights the importance of play in leisure and free time. They are aimed at boys and girls in 1st grade up to 12 years of age. The schedule of the activity will be from 09:30 to 13:30, without dining room service.

The multisport Campus begins its activity on July 1. Boys and girls will practice various sports and recreational activities such as badminton, basketball, futsal, unihockey, table tennis, alternative sports, doing physical exercise in a fun and cooperative way. Will be on La Cueva, El Trigal and Loranca sports centers. Boys and girls can sign up, in groups, from 6 to 9 years old and from 10 to 14 years old. The dates, between July 1 and 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., without dining room.

The councilor for Youth and Children of Fuenlabrada, Beatriz Peñalver has defined these Fuenlicolonias as “A leisure and free time program, based on education in values ​​and that incorporates inclusiveness by offering places to children in vulnerable situations, as well as to those with functional diversity problems.”
