the squad of Italy. Absent Galiazzo, two young people with Mauro Nespoli – OA Sport

Italy will be the protagonist in the pre-Olympic archery tournament scheduled in Paris (France) from 18 to 21 June. Our national teams will try to qualify the two teams: three five-circle passes for each sex are scheduled, so you will need to get on the podium to ensure participation in the Games. This is a mission that is anything but simple, but still within the reach of Italy, which has all the credentials to look for the company in an event that promises to be decidedly balanced, uncertain and exciting.

The men’s training will rely above all on the experience of Mauro Nespoli, 33-year-old Lombard who won the team gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics. Alongside the individual European Champion 2005 and 2008 there are two young people of undoubted talent like Federico Musolesi and Alessandro Paoli. It was therefore decided to renounce Marco Galiazzo. The 38-year-old from Veneto, Olympic champion in the individual in Athens 2004 and protagonist of the team triumph in 2012, will watch the competition from home.

The female team, on the other hand, will be formed by Tatiana Andreoli, Lucilla Boari, Chiara Rebagliati. Very solid trio and capable of being able to give themselves important satisfactions. In case of qualification for the Olympics, Italy would still be an outsider able to really surprise anyone and to blow the bank.

It should be noted that Italy has already qualified a man and a woman in Tokyo 2021 (therefore he will also be able to play the match in mixed pairs), regardless of the outcome of the Paris tournament. In the event of a positive result on French soil, then the team composed of 3 elements will be able to fly to the Rising Sun. Recall that 9 teams by gender are already admitted to the Games (8 through the 2019 World Cup, to which Japan is added as the organizing country), the last three places remain to be assigned.
