The PNV of Irun proposes to adapt the tennis courts of San Marcial

irun – The municipal group of EAJ-PNV of Irun has reiterated this week, through a letter, its position on the need to continue improving the sports facilities of San Marcial-Txingudi. The enclosure underwent a major renovation in 2018 in which it gained a new service building and in which its previous swimming pools, green areas and children’s games were improved. Since then, the jeltzales recall that they have been making improvement proposals to complete the installation, including “a significant one that the Government accepted and helped improve the environment and accessibility.”

In July 2018, after the first visit by the jeltzale group to the facilities, they proposed that a pedestrian connection be set up so that the Irundarras “could access the pools on foot, without using any vehicle.” The local government then took the proposal into account, accepted it and developed it.

Similarly, the jeltzales recall that later, in 2019, they proposed to allocate 5,000 euros to carry out an expansion study of the central pool of the facilities due to the controversy raised in the public due to its small size. On this occasion, the Government rejected the proposal of the PNV group.

Likewise, from the training they recall that they have been claiming for a long time that “the repair of the roof of the tennis courts should be undertaken, which at present is perforated and invalidated by humidity and vegetation”. “So much so”, say the jeltzales, “that once we spoke with the club, we worked together and presented to the 2020 budgets an initiative for the City Council to face this reform.”

The amendment of the jeltzales to fix the tracks raised a cost of 200,000 euros in two years. The local government rejected the proposal in 2020 and also in 2021, as the jeltzales resubmitted it. “We believe that from the City Council we must make an effort and try to solve these problems that limit the practice of sport in our city,” they assert from the PNV, clarifying that the objective of the initiative would not be only an improvement, but a transformation for that the clues can be used for other activities.

“We propose an installation that can be converted into a multidisciplinary space and that responds to other needs that exist in our city,” the jeltzales say in their note, underlining that training will continue to support “sports policies, as well as local sports. their athletes “.
