Kawhi Leonard landed probably THE highlight of the playoffs so far in the 118: 104 victory of the LA Clippers in Game 4 against the Jazz. With a crazy poster dunk about jazz Big Derrick Favors, he put the fans in the Staples Center and on the Internet in ecstasy.
About a minute and a half before the end of the first half, the claw put the exclamation mark on a dominant first half of the Clippers. After a pass from Patrick Beverley, the 29-year-old pulled past Royce O’Neale into the opposing zone, where Favors tried to make the Clippers star’s graduation difficult.
But Kawhi picked it up and pounded a furious one-handed dunk in the truest sense of the word via favors through the trap. TNTCommentator Ian Eagle celebrated the impressive slam with a loud “Ohhh” and declared the dunk to be a “major KawHighlight”.
The scene was also duly celebrated on Twitter. Several NBA stars expressed their admiration for the dunk and football star Allen Robinson also posted three emojis with a blushed face and the hashtag “klaw”. Joel Embiid interrupted his press conference after the 100:10 bankruptcy of his Sixers against the Atlanta Hawks when he saw the scene on a screen and said, “Oh my God!”
“I don’t usually see the reactions on social media, but [Ivica Zubac] showed me the clip from Embiid. That’s the only thing I noticed, “said Kawhi, as usual, taciturn after the game about his dunk and the reactions.
For Kawhi it was the second monster dunk in this year’s playoffs, after beating the Dallas Mavericks in the first round Maxi had put glue on the poster. In game 4 against Jazz, he led his team with 31 points to the important 2-2 equalization in the western semifinals. He spent the last minutes of the game on the bench after injuring his right knee after colliding with Joe Ingles. But that doesn’t seem to be a cause for concern. “I’m fine,” said Kawhi.
