The Roland Garros champion is already preparing for Wimbledon on the Mallorcan tracks, with identical grass

BARCELONA, 15 (EUROPA PRESS)

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, new winner of Roland Garros, is already starting to prepare for the next Wimbledon ‘Grand Slam’ and will be in the doubles tournament of the Mallorca Championships, an ATP 250 tournament that takes place at the Mallorca Country Club on grass, identical to that of the London tournament.

Djokovic arrives this Thursday in Mallorca with his entire team with the intention of getting the best possible preparation on grass for Wimbledon, so he will train on tracks that have the same grass as that used in the tournament, and will also participate in the doubles tournament.

The current number 1 in the ATP ranking has accepted the invitation that the tournament director himself, Toni Nadal, Rafa Nadal’s uncle and former coach, had offered him. In addition, he will attend the grand opening of the new Center Court of the Mallorca Country Club next Friday, June 18.

The highlight of this event will be the “legends match” between Djokovic’s coach, Goran Ivanisevic, and former world number 2, Tommy Haas. Novak Djokovic will join the celebration and participate in the event.

Along with Novak Djokovic, another Grand Slam champion will participate in the Mallorca Championships, Austrian Dominic Thiem. The 2020 US Open champion leads a powerful singles team, which includes one of the most prominent Next Gen on the circuit such as the Norwegian Casper Ruud, the Russian Karen Khachanov or the Spanish Pablo Carreño and Feliciano López.
