Ten medals of the Lizardi judocas in the Euskadi Cadet Championship

Good harvest of medals for the cadet judokas of the Klub Lizardi.

The juniors also played a good role in the regional one in which Yeray Mendibe achieved the title of champion of Euskadi

Excellent end of the season for the Judo Klub Lizardi athletes who, despite the difficulties in the development of the training sessions, have won ten medals in the Euskadi cadet category championship. A week before, they won another six medals, also in the Euskadi championship, but this time in the junior category.

The cadet championship was held at the Fanderia fronton, in Errenteria. It was attended by twelve competitors from the club who a couple of months earlier had achieved a place in the Gipuzkoa championship (seven in the female category and five in the male category).

In the female category, the results were: -44 kg. Ane Conde, silver, and Eva Manzanas, bronze; -48 kg. Nora Mendibe, gold; -57kg. Naia Arregi bronze and Nagore Elorza 5th place; -63kg. Naira Villasante bronze and, in -70kg. Lore Austing silver.

For their part, in the male category, they obtained the following results: -50 kg. Unax Mendez bronze; -60kg. Zuhaitz Valero 5th place; -73kg. Shalva Jhokadze bronze; -90 kg. Martin Inchausti gold, and Aritz Zubizarreta silver

Yeray Mendibe to the State

A week before, it was the appointment for the junior judokas who attended the regional one at the Erandio sports center (Bizkaia). The juniors also performed at a good level.

Naiara Villasante (who is still a cadet athlete) managed to get into the final but lost against the representative of Bizkaia, achieving runner-up. Lore Austing finished in third place at -70 kg. and in -90 kg. Aritz Austing and Aritz Zubizarreta were third.

In -100 kg. Yeray Mendibe was proclaimed champion of Euskadi, a result that gives him the pass to attend the Spanish Championship that will be held tomorrow, Saturday in Valencia. There he will go with the rest of the Euskadi team and face the best junior judokas at the national level.

Finally, at +100 kg. the runner-up went to Lander Rezabal.

Two new black belts

Also noteworthy is the achievement of Marc Martí and Irene Aldabaldetreku, who achieved the black belt in the undergraduate exams held in Miribilla. Both 45- and 18-year-old athletes had been preparing for the exam for months and everything went perfectly.
