How it got here: Despite not hearing his name during the 2021 NFL Draft, Artayvious Lynn didn’t have to wait long to get a call after the 255 pick. The Bossier City, Louisiana native was one of a group of potential catchers who were signed as undrafted free agents along with Brennan Eagles, TJ Vasher and Brandon Smith. Lynn, a four-year card winner at TCU, took on the role of constant blocking tight end with a flash of catching skill in his senior year. In 2020, Lynn posted the most efficient receiving season of his college career with seven receptions for 88 yards, including a 48-yard touchdown reception in his season opener against Iowa State.

Whats Next: Lynn has an uphill battle ahead of him due to an overly packed tight end room. Dalton Schultz emerged as a stable option in both the passing game and as a blocker during Blake Jarwin’s absence. Additionally, fellow undrafted free agent Sean McKeon was active for 14 games last season and received big plays as a blocker. A role similar to the one Lynn intends to land. Lynn, who is about two inches shorter than McKeon, has a similar arm length at over 78 inches in full length and a massive reception radius that has yet to be seen by his teammate.

You did not know: In 2015, Lynn originally got engaged to UMass before moving on to Milford Academy, where he scored six touchdowns that season and got offers from Florida, Temple, TCU and others. He then did not play in 2016 with the Horned Frogs before finally seeing his first action game during the 2017 campaign.
