Spanish football wants to put the gold medal and diamonds on Maximino Martínez from Poles

More than a quarter of a century as a member of the board of directors of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, a lot of work for football and a good mood are more than enough qualities for the RFEF to have considered that it is time to recognize the dedication that the Sierense Maximino Martínez has had towards the national king sport.

And that is why, in the ordinary general assembly of the Federation, which took place on Tuesday in the Ciudad del Fútbol, its president Luis Rubiales announced that he has proposed Maximino Rodríguez as a candidate to receive the gold medal and diamonds from the governing body of Spanish football.

Born in Pola de Siero almost 75 years ago, Maximino Martínez has been president of the Football Federation of the Principality of Asturias since 1994, after being a soccer player, director of the Popular Union of Langreo and founder, in 1987, of the Lada Langreo CF club, which he presided over for a year. And since 1995 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the RFEF, currently occupying one of the vice-presidencies.

Of Maximino Martínez Rubiales has said that “He is a brave, noble and loyal man, not only for what he does for football in Asturias, but for football in general. He is endearing and we need him here,” he commented with emotion.

There would not be, Rubiales indicated, a better framework to distinguish the long career of Maximino Martínez, convalescing even after having suffered the covid.

“We miss Maxi a lot,” the RFEF president confessed to the Assembly, who expects the soon return to an Assembly of the Asturian leader.
