An intense, atmospheric and well-fought RSL Final 4 final culminated on Wednesday night in a triumph of 5-3 and gold for the defending champions, Skovshoved. – A completely insane feeling, it sounds from the decisive women’s doubles, Sara Lundgaard / Mette Poulsen.

For the second year in rap, Skovshoved can call himself Danish champions for teams. It is clear after Wednesday’s RSL Final 4 gold match, which featured terrific feathers, long missed loud support and cheers from the club supporters on the stands and nerve-wracking drama to the last smash that Mette Poulsen had the pleasure of knocking on the floor.

– It was absolutely fantastic. I have not tried to decide a team match in this way before. Mega cool team match, and I am so happy that we get closed and off, because it was nerves in the end, it sounded from Mette Poulsen, who closed the match with the numbers 26-24 in the second set of the showdown with Julie Finne-Ipsen / May Surrow.

Partner Sara Lundgaard votes in.

– It was a completely insanely fat feeling. There have been so many nerves in this team match, so that we can go in and decide it, I think is insane, it sounded from Lundgaard, who also highlighted the massive support from the club’s supporters from the stands in Brøndby Hallen.

– It meant that we got mega much up in gear, and could feel that it means a lot, not just for us, but for the whole club, at the same time as it helped to lift the mood and the level very much, says Sara Lundgaard.

It is the seventh Danish Championship title for the club and by the way the first with Viktor Axelsen on the team.

Wednesday’s DM final began with the first mixed double. Here, the left-handed VBs, Mathias Thyrri, took control from the start and played the ball wisely in the right holes, while Mai Surrow guarded the net like a shield with fast racket guidance and sticky net rollers. It gave the pair a fairly certain victory of 21-10, 21-18.

The second mixed double, on the other hand, was an extremely intense affair, where the four combatants played proper mixed doubles and almost the entire match took turns to take home points. At the last crucial times, however, it was Mette Poulsen / Joel Eipe who made the fewest mistakes and fought for the initiative. In favor of the forests, the overall result was thus 24-22, 19-21, 21-17.

And it was 1-1.

In the following first women’s single between Værløse’s Julie Dawall and Skovshoved’s Natalia Koch Rohde, the latter otherwise made a good effort with a good fight, especially in light of the fact that she became a mother eight months ago, but she ended up suffering defeat at 16- 21, 18-21.

Meanwhile, Ditlev Jæger Holm and Rasmus Gemke fought a marathon competition, where the favorite Gemke for several periods struggled to find both the back line and the solutions. Ditlev Jæger Holm, on the other hand, kindly offered to dance, and this led to a match of more than 75 minutes, which culminated in an iron smash directly into the floor from Rasmus Gemke’s hand to 21-19 in the third set.

And it was 2-2.

Unlike his teammate, Viktor Axelsen did a short process in his showdown with Rasmus Messerschmidt. In relation to yesterday’s showdown with Mark Caljouw, Viktor Axelsen was completely in control and played with a big profit, which left the opponent with a paltry 7 and 7 points.

More or less at the same time, Sophia Grundtvig drove the fourth point into the Skovshoved account with a victory of 21-8, 23-21 over Sofie Holmboe Dahl, and thus a heavy pressure was to that extent placed on the shoulders of the Værløse players.

At first Andreas Søndergaard / Daniel Lundgaard managed to avert the later fate when they defeated Joel Eipe / Rasmus Kjær close in two sets, but not long after the VBs’ hopes were extinguished with Mette Poulsen’s neat left fist.

Thus, we thank you for this year’s RSL Final 4 and wish the newly beaten Danish champions a big congratulations and an enjoyable party!
