Shin Tae-yong’s Substitute Determination in the Final Match Vs UAE

Assistant coach national team, Choi In-cheul, replacing Shin Tae-yong’s role as coach at the press conference session before the Indonesia vs United Arab Emirates (UAE) match at Zabeel Stadium, Dubai, Friday (11/6) at 23.45 WIB.

Indeed, the national team is in a slump in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asia Group G zone. After losing five times in a row in 2019, the Red and White Team has yet to win in two of the remaining three matches.

First, his team was held to a 2-2 draw by Thailand (3/6/2021). Second, Evan Dimas et al. did not move when dealing with Vietnam. The team made by Park Hang-seo was able to crush Indonesia with a convincing 4-0 score.

Even so, Choi In-cheul ensured that the national team still had a strong motivation to finish their steps in Group G with a win.

“Even though we can’t qualify from the group stage or maybe from the World Cup Qualifiers. But we see the potential of this young player and we will continue to work hard. Even though the UAE is playing at home, we will still unite and maximize our team for the match,” said Choi In. -cheul in the press conference.

“We will show a better game,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Shin Tae-yong as the head coach cannot accompany his students on the sidelines of the field. The reason, he got two yellow cards in the party vs Thailand and Vietnam. As a result, he was suspended for the accumulation of yellow cards.

Referring to the 2021 AFC Competition Operations Manual, Shin Tae-yong is prohibited from being on the sidelines, post-match press conference sessions, and in the changing rooms.

But, actually coach Shin Tae-yong can still accompany the team in the press conference session before the match. However, he did not take that opportunity and gave his assistant, Choi In-cheul, the opportunity to attend the press conference.
