Serie A: Simone Inzaghi will coach Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku wants to stay

After separating from master coach Antonio Conte, the Italian first division club Inter Milan has announced a successor: Simone Inzaghi comes from league competitor Lazio Rome.

The three-time Italian international, younger brother of Filippo Inzaghi (57 caps), has signed a two-year contract with Inter.

Inter replaced permanent champions Juventus Turin last season. Already after the 34th matchday the team was unassailable in first place. But the club, plagued by money problems, has to save. And master coach Conte is said to have disagreed with the club’s plans. The 51-year-old and Inter therefore mutually agreed on a separation. Conte’s contract would have run until 2022.

Lukaku: “Yes, I’ll stay”

The club will probably have to part with some players due to economic bottlenecks. Romelu Lukaku is not one of them. The 28-year-old confirmed that he would remain at Inter shortly before the Inzaghi signing was announced.

“Yes, I’m staying. I’ve already spoken to the man who will be our new coach. Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet, but it was a very positive conversation, «said Lukaku on the Belgian program» Deviltime «. “With him, I’ll take on the challenge of winning the Scudetto again. I feel good at Inter. “

Lukaku contributed 26 goals to the first league title since 2010. Two years ago he came from Manchester United for € 74 million.
