Donation campaign in Düsseldorf
:
Senators are collecting for new clams
Düsseldorf There are incentives for donors to take the first throw at a baseball game, for example.
The Senators baseball department at TSG Benrath has started a fundraising campaign to finance a new clamshell. With the help of their support association, the Senators are currently unable to meet the acquisition costs of the “safety cage”, which is urgently needed for training and play, of around 6,000 euros. “Because of the corona-related break in games, we lack the income that we normally make on the fringes of the game days,” Tanja Abmeier-Dunskus and Daniel Czelinski, as donation coordinators, justify the current appeal for donations to club members, patrons and everyone
According to the crowdfunding principle, a target sum of 4444 euros is to be raised by June 20 via the nationwide platform “fairplaid”. The Senators are currently drawing attention to their donation project with flyers and corresponding calls on social media such as Facebook and Instagram as well as on the website (www.senators.de/crowdfunding).
“After decades of use, our old beater – once built by the Senators’ founding fathers – is showing its age and is ailing. And that’s why we need a new shell, ”is the urgent appeal from the club. Youth teams and senior teams benefit equally from the acquisition. The new clam is an original American product and is supplied by a sports importer from the Czech Republic.
Donors can choose a personal thank you from a list of givebacks. In addition to the limited-edition crowdfunding T-shirt with Senators design, attractive hands-on activities encourage donations, such as “throwing with speed measurement”, whereby the donor can test his or her own throwing technique under expert supervision. There is also a choice of a game visit as a guest of honor in the VIP lounge with catering service, as well as a traditional “first pitch” (throwing the first ball at a game) including a handmade home plate or a helper service as a “bat boy” live during a baseball game.
According to the crowdfunding principle, the following also applies to this campaign: If the donation goal is not achieved, all donors will receive their donation back.
