Selenia, who was also the youngest participant in the tournament, won the gold medal in the women’s individual SL4, becoming the youngest winner of a Spanish Championship in the parabadminton modality. The Setabense beat Ana María Capo, from CB Mao, by 21-18 and 22-20 in the final. Silver came to him in the mixed doubles SU5-SL3, forming a couple with Simón Cruz, international medalist and member of the Spanish Parabádminton Team. In this final, Pla and Cruz fell to Pablo Serrano and Ana Maria Capo by 21-10 and 21-11, remaining runners-up. The Setabense and Simón Cruz also formed a couple in the SU5 doubles, where they finished third, obtaining the bronze medal. In addition, Selenia received one of the Universo Mujer awards.
Xàtiva Badminton also managed to get on the podium in the U-15 and U-19 Youth Master, held last weekend in Cerdanyola del Vallés (Barcelona). The club attended with four U-15 athletes: Ximo Torres, Sarai Ramón, Jesús Cimas and Andrea Orquín, and the latter two won the silver medal in the mixed doubles, after losing in the final to Quique Gil and Sara Sáez by 21- 10 and 21-9. Andrea and Jesús were thus runners-up. In individual, Ximo and Jesús reached the quarterfinals; while Sarai and Andrea were dropped from the competition in the round of 16. With these classifications for the final phase, the Setabenses add points to position themselves in the fight for the classification of the next U-15 Spanish Championship.
The third day of the Jocs Esportius in the Alevín category, held last Saturday in Enguera, also featured representation from Xàtiva Badminton. The 10 Setabense who took part in the competition achieved 30% victories in the matches played, singles and doubles. Martina Molina stood out, with three victories out of four possible.

Next Saturday, the CEIP Jacinto Castañeda de Xàtiva will host the Closing Tournament of the Xàtiva Municipal Badminton Sports School, in which athletes from the school and the Xàtiva Badminton Club will participate.
