Santander, with a large representation in the Junior Pan American Games

Santander will have a broad representation at the next Junior Pan American Games.

As confirmed by the Departmental Institute of Recreation and Sports of Santander (Indersantander), the department has 18 athletes to play the Games, which will be held in Cali (Valle del Cauca).

“For the first time in the history of Santander 25 athletes (18 already classified and seven to be confirmed) classified in 10 different disciplines to participate from November 25 to December 5 in the Junior Pan American Games,” announced the Indersantander.

Raúl Gutiérrez Torres, High Performance coordinator and professionals from the Indersantander technical methodological group, officially announced the list of classifieds.

Simón Gómez, sailing athlete, and skater Jacobo Mantilla are two of the great cards that will represent the department.

The Indersantander reported that the number of athletes in the region classified may increase.

Canoeing, with Jhon Pacheco, Geraldine Martínez, Aneilis Pava and Misael Moreno, is the sport that will give four more places to Santander for this competition.

For their part, Angelina Palacio and Keiner Sánchez, judocas, are also waiting to confirm their classification, as well as Andrés Villamizar, squash athlete.

There are already 18 names confirmed to play the Pan American Games: Simón Gómez Ortiz (sailing); Valeria Gómez (gymnastics); Jacobo Mantilla (skating); Juan Daniel García (swimming); Valentina Junkar (weights); Dany Palencia and Héctor Morales (Rafting); Víctor Mena, Steven Riaño, Leidy Almeida, Esteyci Díaz, María Mora and Gueyler Colmenares (judo); Cielo Arenas, Bryan Ríos and Luis Ríos (Karate); Angelín Smith Saldaña (Taekwondo) and Lucía Bautista (squash).

In the absence of confirmation, another seven names will join and fill the 25 places.
