The 70 children played the game
The dynamic team of the Turgis leisure center, which has no shortage of ideas for the benefit of children, organized its first biathlon, the “Olympiades de Turgis”, which took place on the site of the Montbeton stadium.
Led by the two sports educators, Frédérique and Pauline, children aged 6 to 11 have been training every Wednesday since April in order to set the best time during this original competition.
This project, led by Florence Nicolas and Maxime Mosnier, managers of the center, was part of the “Terre de jeux 2024” label recently obtained by Vichy community, and aimed at sharing the benefits and values of sport with as many people as possible. .
Seventy children, divided into different groups according to age groups, played the game perfectly, happy to be able to “have fun” again after this long period of confinement.
Medals and music
Running and shooting were on the program, under the sun, throughout the day. Laser-Run, archery and blowguns, as well as throwing balls for toddlers, required post-race concentration and physical commitment.

The day ended with a medal ceremony in music with a podium, eagerly awaited by the young competitors.
Several rankings made it possible to reward the maximum number of children, very proud to display their shining medal, in a joyful animation, in the presence of Marie-José Morier, deputy mayor of Cusset, in charge of youth and childhood.
The managers of the Turgis center, after the success of this first edition, are determined to do it again next year.
