Roger Federer disappointed with the performance: “Maybe I would have lost anyway, but I shouldn’t have played the third set with that attitude”

Roger Federer, born in 1981 and # 8 ATP

Roger Federer, current world number eight, today said he was very disappointed with the way he lost his second round match in the ATP 500 in Halle, especially with how he played the third set.

“I preferred to wait to come here because I was not happy with how the match went and I didn’t want to give answers on the wave of the moment. I preferred to speak to Ivan Ljubicic first to discuss how I felt on the pitch and why it happened.
He wanted to win and played better in the end. Maybe I would have lost anyway, but I shouldn’t have played with that attitude in the third set. This is something that does not happen to me often, indeed I would say very rarely. But I am convinced that the next time it will not happen and neither the one after nor the one after.
Given the situation, going to London too early wouldn’t even give me a competitive advantage, now I’m going home and discussing with my team what is the best way to prepare for Wimbledon these days ”.
It makes you wonder why these ups and downs happen but it’s part of the path and you have to be ready to face it ”.
