Four flyers from the IES La Orden Badminton Club will be present, starting today, at the Iberdrola Spanish International 2021. The competition, which will take place until Saturday, takes place in La Nucía (Valencia) and it will have a positive representation of the Albiazules flyers.
In total, 200 players from more than 30 countries from four continents attend this tournament, where the Spanish National Team will seek to make a good journey. For this reason, Pablo Abián, Haideé Ojeda and Víctor Martín have been summoned by the national entity with the aim of achieving great results. On the other hand, the IES La Orden will also have the representation of Adrián Márquez, who participates individually.
With regard to the matches, they start from 9:00, so that today the preliminary phase will begin. As for the crosses, Pablo Abián will play the men’s doubles with his brother -Javier Abián– against the Germans Kilian Ming-Zhe Maurer and Matthias Schnabel.
For its part, Haideé Ojeda and Víctor Martín will play the mixed doubles against the Dutch duo of Andy Buijk and Kelly Van Buiten. What’s more, Víctor Martín will join Adrián Márquez to also play the men’s doubles, in which they will have as rivals the French Jordan Corvee and Yanis Gaudin.
As indicated above, the event began today with the preliminary phase, which will last until Thursday, the day on which the qualifying rounds of the final draw will also begin.
Later, on Friday the round of 16 and the quarterfinals will be played, to close the tournament on Saturday with the semifinals and finals. From the IES La Orden Badminton Club, we wish luck to the four players who are in Valencia, and who have prepared in the best possible way for this competition.
