During his early years in the league, Anthony Davis has earned a reputation as an injury-prone player, which has even earned him the nickname ‘street clothes’ by Charles Barkley. But last year when he arrived at the Lakers he made it a point of honor to be as available as possible for his teammates, which was praised throughout the season by Frank Vogel. But this season unfortunately he couldn’t escape injury, limited to 36 regular season games due to Achilles tendon and calf issues. In the playoffs he first sprained his knee, then a strained groin.
He missed Game 5, but tried to play Game 6 when he was supposed to be out for 10-14 days. He couldn’t play for more than a few minutes, and his courage was praised. Guest of the Dan Patrick Show, Kevin Garnett said he was shocked that he wanted to play.
