No end of Roland Garros for Podoroska in doubles

Nadia Podoroska was left empty-handed together with the Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu in the women’s doubles at Roland Garros 2020. It was 6-3 and 6-4 for the pair made up of Bethanie Mattek-Sands e Iga Swiatek.

Podoroska remained on a more even level, but her partner had a hard time in the first set and failed to lift in the second. Mattek-Sands dumped all her experience and was well supported by the 2020 singles champion.

First shift, Barbora Krejcikova, the finalist in singles achieved the double thanks to her compatriot Katerina Siniakova and they got into the definition of the tournament. Blunt 6-1 and 6-2 to Magda Linette and Bernarda Pera.

The last player to achieve the double was Mary Pierce in 2000 beating Conchita Martínez in the singles final and triumphing with Martina Hingis in doubles.
